What is the purpose of
Locator?

Locator is Ubiquicom’s software platform that enables:

  • real-time location
  • tracking of people, vehicles and assets
  • telemetry
  • real-time management of complex location-based events
  • collecting a large amount of field data and strategic information to improve decision-making processes.

The Locator platform, based on standard architectures and protocols, can communicate bi-directionally with countless types of devices and process field data generated from dozens of different location technologies.

Using all the collected field data, the Locator platform calculates the position of each monitored object, performs actuations, and generates position-based events, making all historical and real-time position data available to other software tools.

Strong Points

The system is able to track with precision the position of individuals and vehicles inside the work area, using active devices which are able to detect, as well as the position, a large quantity of field data which is analysed in real time in order to identify risk or accident situations.
The platform thus manages, with the suitable hardware-software mix required by the particular scenario, aspects such as:

  • risks of collision with work vehicles,
  • monitoring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required in particular areas,
  • correct composition of work teams and the risks of interference,
  • site permits and vehicle authroisations
  • man-down incidents, assistance requests and processes for site evacuations with any emergency situation e.g fire alarms

Furthermore, with the data collected during tracking site management can take informed, actionable decisions to enhance safety.

The Safety Locator suite stands out with regard to:
